This year in selfies

I try to take a selfie every day; here are some of my favorite ones from 2025:

January 6, 2025, during the Richmond water crisis. I’m returning home from my local bodega, which had bottles of water.

I'm in the foreground of the shot with a single strand of hair draped across my forehead. There's folks in the background of the shot sitting at or standing around tables, where they're preparing robots to battle.
May 24, 2025. At RVA RABID, the Battlebots-style robot fight, which Mobius sponsored. I don’t know what my hair’s doing here.

A photograph out a window from a stairwell leads to a high-contrast jumble of lines and angles. Outside the window, you can see overhead rail supports, an elevated train track, and the blur of cars and a truck on an even-higher-up overpass. The interior lights from the stairwell paint contrasting lines onto the window, with the gaps between railings adding grids of light to the center of the frame, and a diagonal light cutting across the left side. Finally, the photographer is lit from behind, reflected in the window, near the top right.
