AFC Richmond wins the Premiership, mostly by virtue of a newly resurgent West Ham United skimming points off of the typical candidates.
Ted Lasso wins it all with a simple smile, then receives a phone call to go coach a cricket team or something.
Coach Beard gets extremely good at strategy in the sport and gets very well near enough to changing the very nature of the game. This time he decides to stay and doesn’t leave Richmond when Ted departs.
Keeley struggles at first to be the boss, but gets by with a little help from her friends.
Jamie‘s star begins to shine again, and he again enters the media spotlight, and he has a bit of a hard time handling it — I could see this going either way; that he becomes too much of a jerk, or is now unable to handle the pressure. Also, his dad dies. Also, there could be attempts to poach him from Manchester City and/or West Ham.
Roy is a rock who helps both Keeley and Jamie through their struggles. He does not like that Ted seems to be grooming him to replace him at Richmond, but eventually reluctantly accepts it, with much profanity. He becomes head coach of AFC Richmond when Ted departs.
Edwin Akufo tries very hard to ruin everything. This ends up looking like a combination of childish pranks and actual things that threaten to bring individuals down. It would be cool if Richmond could somehow be compared to Raja CA or even play them, but I think this’ll just end up as a nod to "we’ll see you at the Club World Cup."
Sam Obisanya becomes a household name, if not next to legendary status. He and Rebecca rekindle their relationship and it goes public.
Rebecca is stressed out by a lot of factors, but ultimately prevails, of course.
Trent Crimm writes a book about Ted.
Sassy and Ted start actually dating, and it’s weird.
A new player is introduced to the squad, but has a very hard time breaking in to the battle-hardened group. That someone is pushed out of the starting 11 creates bad blood. Ted resorts to Ultimate Hijinks to bring the new player into the fold.
That one new kit/facilities manager kid is treated with respect and is also able to give some pretty good advice, but isn’t promoted to the level of manager.
Nate. Poor Nate. West Ham go on an absolute tear, crushing all competition, especially Richmond in the first 2/3rds of the season. As Richmond become true title contenders, the media starts to put pressure on Nate, which turns into mistakes; the backroom becomes unhappy, he is eventually unceremoniously fired and now unable to find work; somehow, Ted is still unable to say "you made your bed, now lie in it," and Nate returns to Richmond.
